A Mid Wales graduate’s experience
Josh Tovey travelled from Mid Wales to train at our Cardiff academy. In his published Google review, he highlights the advice he received from Alessandro, Kieran and Robyn on developing his barbering.

From Mid Wales to our Cardiff academy
Mid Wales covers a wide area, so your attendance plan needs to start with your own location. Teaching for this course takes place in person on St Mary Street in Cardiff city centre.
Plan from your door to the classroom
If you are based in Builth Wells, Llandrindod Wells or elsewhere in Powys, include the journey to your nearest suitable station or bus connection, any changes and the final journey to the academy. Check the return trip after class too. Use the Transport for Wales journey planner to check current train options for your particular starting point.
Compare a daily journey with a weekday base
Consider the time, cost and reliability of travelling five days each week. For a longer journey, compare that routine with staying in Cardiff during teaching weeks and travelling home between them. Confirm your course session before booking transport or accommodation.
What you will learn
Build consultation, clipper and scissor skills, then practise with real haircut clients from week 3, with models supplied. Training includes fades, beard work and wet shaving, alongside customer service and portfolio development.
