15. Changes to this policy

Size appropriately.

When cutting hair, assess head shape, hair density and desired style before choosing the blade guard or scissors length. For clippers, start with a longer guard and work down incrementally to avoid over-cutting. For scissors-over-comb, position the comb parallel to the surface you wish to follow and remove small amounts at a time. Blend transitions by using clipper-over-comb or point-cutting with shears to soften lines. For beard trims, establish the neckline and cheek lines first, then set length with a comb and trimmer, checking symmetry frequently.

Communicate with the client throughout: show them the guard number or the length you’re about to remove, ask for confirmation, and make test passes so they can see progress. Use a handheld mirror to check the back and ensure they approve the overall balance.

Finish by refining edges with a detail trimmer, removing loose hairs with a brush or blow-dry, and applying suitable post-cut products (light balm for beards, styling paste or spray for hair). Always confirm final satisfaction before the client leaves.

We may update this policy when our services, systems or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page.
