Travelling from Merthyr Tydfil

Your training takes place at our academy on St Mary Street in Cardiff city centre. Before applying, plan a weekday routine you can sustain for the full 12-week course.

Check both ends of the day

Compare the journey from your door to the academy for each session. Include getting to your station or bus stop, onward travel in Cardiff and the return home after class. Use the Transport for Wales journey planner to check trains for your intended teaching days, and leave room for delays.

Fit training around your week

Classes run Monday to Friday. Consider how your preferred session fits with work, caring responsibilities and time to practise and complete coursework. Speak to us about session availability before making travel arrangements.

Learn through practical training

Develop consultation, clipper and scissor skills before working with real haircut clients from week 3. Models are supplied. Training includes fades, beard work, traditional wet shaving, customer service and portfolio development.
